A Further Drop in Interest Rates

On 5th February the Bank of England again announced a cut in Interest Rates by half a percentage point, taking the figure to a record low of 1%. This is the lowest rate since the Bank was founded over 300 years ago.

A number of mainstream banks and building societies, including Halifax and Nationwide, have already announced that they will be passing the cut onto their customers with standard variable rate mortgages.
